The Noni Market Bag

I've been walking around with this bag (prominently) displayed on my arm, and I love it. It's the Noni Market Bag, size medium, with fuschia dangling from the handle. Bag: easy. Fuschia: hard. (Not SO hard, just difficult to juggle the multiple double-pointed needles.).

I knit the bag using Cascade 220 in silver/gray (8407) with flowers in white (8505) and purple (8888, I think). The stems are green (duh, but 2409 exactly).

Here's what it looked like before felting:
And then after felting. The flowers didn't shrink much but changed nicely in shape:
And the final version. Yay!
Thanks to Marcia at Threadbear for a great class!

A Knitting Road Trip

tIn May of 2007, Marsha and I boarded a chartered bus and made our way from Lansing, Michigan to Inverhuron, Ontario--home of Philosopher's Wool.

We left Lansing at 8am, with stops in Flint and Port Huron to pick up other excited knitters (who also got to sleep later than we did, dang it!). Marsha won the first door prize (yay!), and after crossing the Canadian border we watched a video on knitting two-handed fair isle.

Our first stop was Goderich, ON for lunch on Lake Huron. So pretty... See?

And just to prove we were really there:

We got a tour of the Philosopher's Farm, and I made a little video of the sheep talking to us.

I'm making the Striped Shawl, and Marsha grabbed a "Clueless" sweater pattern.

Thanks to Marcia for organizing a great trip, and Threadbear for sponsoring! We had a blast.

Jordan's Poncho

Here's the poncho I made for Jordan. It was a LOT of knitting (you were right, Marsha!), but it looks like it will fit her for a couple of years.

It was made with Blue Sky Cotton (in Thistle, Shell & Indigo) using a Fiber Trends pattern. Thanks to Matt at Threadbear for helping me select the colors! I wish I had followed your recommendations and NOT put the shell on the border, but I screwed up. Here's hoping it doesn't get too dirty!

Knitting is awesome

I know, I know... Just what I need. Another blog that I don't update on a regular basis. However, I need a place to stash pictures of my knitting projects, so here it is!

My final (for now) Noni bag is felting in the washing machine as I type. Pictures coming soon!
